GC-MS

This service involves the analysis of organic components in various matrices (such as food, effluents, biological samples, organic synthesis products, etc.) using gas chromatography (GC) coupled with mass spectrometry (MS) employing ion trap technology. Additionally, volatile components can also be analyzed.

The methodology allows for the detection and quantification of organic molecules in liquid solution or gas phase (using solid-phase microextraction, SPME) with tentative identification based on database searches of the generated mass spectrum.

This analysis is relevant for academic research in exact and natural sciences, as well as professionals in the food, environmental, cosmetic, pharmaceutical, forensic, energy (biofuel), and materials sectors.

Chromatographic Separation: The chromatographic separation occurs in a capillary column with helium flow, and detection is performed using mass spectrometry with an ion trap.

Applications include the analysis of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon profiles, determination of essential oils, and quantification of methylated fatty acids.
